Swimming and Soccer

We're starting to settle in to our new routine after a long, busy summer. Christie goes back to work this week, and the boys are back at The Gathering Place full time.

Matthew started off the summer taking soccer lessons at Superkids. It's a great program because they don't actually play the game. Instead, the kids learn a lot of the beginner skills at their pace. Matthew took the same class last summer and really enjoyed it. He was much more confident and coordinated this time around. We'll see if he wants to keep trying it in the future.

During the second half of the summer, Matthew finally took swim lessons. It's safe to say that he's no longer afraid of the water. Matthew took an awesome program at the Westerville recreation center. In two weeks he turned into a little fish. Matthew learned how to hold his breath and open his eyes underwater, swim on his tummy and his back, and simply float. The program wrapped up with a jump off the diving board, with assistance of course!! Here's an edited video I made of his swim lessons using iMovies.
