Easter 2009

Our attempts at "not planning" an Easter weekend paid off!  You see, every time we make plans for a holiday or big events, one of boys gets sick or something else spoils our fun.  So we thought we would throw fate off this time and try a unplanned approach-- and it worked!  The NaylorNutHouse was able to hit the road!

We enjoyed a Naylor Easter party at my parent's house on Saturday.  The entire Naylor and Petiya families were there.  Matthew, Adam, and their cousins Luke and Lilly enjoyed an Easter egg hunt organized by Grandma and Grandpa.  They even decorated Easter bags before searching out for goodies.  We're also waiting to see what Matthew learned from his second cousins Scott, Shawn, and Brett.  They were having way too much fun the family room while no one was looking... hmmmm.

The second half of the weekend began at Grandma and Grandbanjo's house.  The boys searched for their eggs and "baskets" from the Easter Bunny.  He was clued in to our whereabouts since we weren't home in Columbus.   After church, Uncle Tickle and Aunt Pam joined the crew for a Easter Bunch before we all set off for favorite Aunt Marge's house (and Uncle Rob too!).  We enjoyed another awesome Easter buffet! Uncle Jim, Aunt Jenny, cousin Ben and Grammie were also there. And the boys received some Easter surprises thanks to Aunt Marge!  It was really nice to "catch up" with that side of the family that doesn't always get to see the complete NaylorNutHouse at other functions (weddings, reunions, birthday, etc.) because of our "curse!"

Cruise 2009

After more than four years, and two kids, it was about time Christie and I took a vacation just the two of us.  The only challenge was convincing her to leave the boys with grandparents for an extended period of time.  Christie had a case of "mom guilt."  However, after about a month of planning and researching, I basically told her we were going away, without the boys, and she couldn't do anything about it.  And it worked!

So, for spring break, we went on a four night cruise to the Bahamas on the Norwegian Sky.  We left from the Port of Miami and made stops in Freeport, Nassau, and Grand Stirrup Cay (Norwegian's private island).  It was so nice to have our own schedule, time to enjoy our dinner, and a chance to drink alcohol and sleep in every morning for a week!!!  We also rediscovered why we love each other so much.

Dusting Off The Blog Site.....

Ever since I was introduced to the world of Facebook and Twitter, I've been neglecting to update the NaylorNutHouse Blog (as you can see since my last post date).  However, I am going to make an effort to keep up with all three as best as possible.

Firing Up the Webcam Again...

Thanks to" Skype", our webcam is up and running again!  We didn't have much success when we first tried it with "Windows Live" about a year and a half ago.   All Matthew would do is scream into the camera and act silly because he could hear himself through the web feed.  However, with "Skype", the audio is no longer an issue.  Now both boys can interact with their grandparents who live about 2 hours away.  Adam really enjoys it.  He especially likes to play "peek-a-boo."   Now I need to get a better webcam so our video feed is a little smoother.

Stop, Drop and Roll!

Matthew is learning about police officers and firefighters all this month at pre-school. Last night, he shared one of his lessons with a full demonstration.
