Matthew's Growth Spurt

Since Adam was born in August, he has been growing like a weed. He went from 9lbs to 18lbs+ in less than 6 months! He's even wearing 12-18 mos. clothes! Matthew, who seemed to slow down a bit, decided to have his own growth spurt recently. We think he grew two sizes in just about a week! He already outgrew some of his fun new Christmas outfits too!!! We're trying to get use out of them before it's too late!

In other news, we think Adam is getting ready to pop out another tooth or two. In the last two days, the drool machine has turned back on. And he's been quite cranky in the evenings. The big question, will he follow in his brother's footsteps and pop out incisors first?

Also, we're getting ready for our first family ski trip! Yep, Matthew's going to give it a try this weekend at Snow Trials in Mansfield. Tonight, I took him to a local ski shop to get fitted for boots and skis. He wasn't quite sure what to make of ski boots. And he was quite upset when he couldn't bring his rental skis home. We'll be picking them up on Thursday night. More to come....

Christmas Finally Comes to a Close

Who needs the 12 days of Christmas? Ours lasted almost a month!! Well, at least part of our celebration was postponed into the new year. We were supposed to travel to Stow (our hometown) the weekend before Christmas. But Matthew and Adam got sick. Each one had ear infections, terrible coughs, and snotty noses. Both even had their own bottle of Amoxicylin (Matthew's was orange, pink bubble gum for Adam). Unfortunately for Adam, his illness turned pretty nasty. He was diagnosed with Bronchealitis. G&G Naylor braved the germy household and made the trip to Columbus for Christmas day (they were also a major help in Adam's recovery and keeping his parents sane!) And finally, this past weekend, we made it to Stow to celebrate Christmas with the rest of the family (tho Uncle "Tickle" and Aunt "Pan" couldn't be there-- we missed you guys!) Thanks for a great weekend! Here are some highlights:

Sunday Silliness!

Every Sunday should be filled with laughter, especially when your life is about to go through changes (even the small ones). That's about to happen to me starting tomorrow. It's not necessarily for the worst, or the better. Instead of working 5am-2pm, I'll be working 9am-6pm. OK, so you may be wondering why this is a bad thing. Granted, I will not miss getting up so early and depending on coffee to jump start my day. However, because my new hours stretch into the evening, I will be losing some QT with the family. Just a month ago, I told my wife how blessed we are to sit at the dinner table together every night. Well, I'll be missing from that table starting tomorrow. There's just no way Matthew can wait to eat until I get home (which will be 6:30pm at the earliest, and that's not factoring in Columbus rush hour traffic). But, not all is lost. We'll just shift our QT to the mornings. At least we have that!



Back to the main purpose of this post. Tonight, my wife and I saw the unique brotherly bond between Matthew (3 years old) and Adam (5 mos. old tomorrow). Adam is fascinated by his big brother. He studies Matthew when he's in the room. And he always cracks a smile his way. Matthew doesn't even have to work for it like his parents. And Matthew will do anything to make Adam happy. Jumping on the Blogging Bandwagon

OK, just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean you have to, right?! Well, my blogging friends are proving me wrong. After checking out their sites, and reading them on a regular basis, I decided to give it a try. It can't hurt, as long as I don't stress myself out about posting stuff on a regular basis. My wife is going to kill me for trying this out. Sorry Dear!! It was only a matter of time before the blogging bug bit me. I sure it will be a fun way to share a part of my life with family and friends.
